Unit Assistant volunteers act as patient ambassadors on our in-patient floors. Their main responsibility is to conduct hourly rounding on patients while providing comfort measures and to assist staff with answering patient call lights. Additional duties may include transport and discharge of patients; socializing with patients; transporting specimens to the Lab; taking inventory and filling supplies, cleaning of equipment and messenger runs. This opportunity provides a high level of patient interaction, and you will be trained "on-the-job" by our nurse educators and volunteers.
Long term commitment is required and consists of one 4 hour shift per week for 6 months or a total of 100 hours.
Shifts available: mornings 9am-1pm and afternoons 1pm-5pm
