    Description

    Description:

The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL) is a nonpartisan coalition of foreign policy experts and young professionals dedicated to revitalizing American leadership through strategic investments in development. We believe that effective foreign aid strengthens national security, prevents pandemics from reaching our shores, and boosts the U.S. economy. We are currently seeking volunteers to help advance A4AL’s legislative strategy. Volunteers will support congressional engagement by monitoring policy developments, drafting briefing materials, and assisting in legislative outreach and preparation.

    Responsibilities:

Volunteers will track specific pieces of legislation and flag key developments related to foreign aid, global development, and U.S. national security. They will draft one-page policy memos or legislative summaries tailored for congressional audiences and assist in preparing materials for meetings with Members of Congress and their staff. Volunteers will also watch committee hearings from the House and Senate, take notes, and produce short briefings. Additional responsibilities include maintaining internal tracking logs of meetings, contacts, and follow-up actions.

    Qualifications:

Ideal candidates should be comfortable reading and analyzing bills and policy proposals. Strong research, writing, and synthesis skills are essential, especially under tight deadlines. Familiarity with tools like Congress.gov, C-SPAN, or similar platforms is helpful.

This is a volunteer, fully remote position, with optional in-person opportunities in Washington, DC.
