    Description

    Environmental Protection & Conservation Program in Ghana

    As a volunteer with this program, you will learn about all aspects of conservation. You will work with organizations on a wide range of conservation initiatives such as assisting with site restoration, planting of trees, maintenance of planting areas, and administrative assistance.

    We welcome volunteers who are interested in working with the nursery area of our projects.

    Volunteers will assist with: tree nursery, transplanting, choosing seedlings, adding seed bags, adding water to the nursery, and fetching water.

    Participants will work with either the Wildlife Division or Ghana Forestry. Anyone aged over 16 can join. You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join this project.

    How to Apply

    Volunteer & Intern Requirements

    You must be 18 years or over at the start of the program. For these who are 15 – 18 years old, we will need to receive consent from your parents via email or telephone before we can offer you a placement on one of our programs.

    You must be able to speak English.

    You must at least have a high school education if you want to perform formal teaching activities to the local communities.

    Once you’re ready, this is how the planning process goes:

    1. OGVO will review your application and respond to you within 24 - 48 hours.
    2. Once you’re sure of your plans, secure your spot by paying the deposit fee of US$200.
    3. Your OGVO Program Coordinator will help you prepare for your trip.
