Hello,
Thank you so much for considering our organization as a volunteer location! As a small organization, we rely heavily on the support of dedicated volunteers to help us serve our community, and we’re excited to welcome new people who are eager to get involved.
The farm operates from March through November, with open days and hours varying by season. During September through November, we’re open Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our biggest need for youth volunteers during these hours is in the animal enclosures. In this role, volunteers help manage gates to the animal pens, share information with visitors, and ensure the safety of both guests and animals. Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with both animals and the public.
Our animals include chickens, pigs, goats, cows, sheep, donkeys, ponies, ducks, geese, and rabbits-so there’s always something interesting happening! There is no minimum number of hours required, and while we encourage regular involvement, we understand that availability may vary.
All volunteers must attend an orientation before beginning their work with the public. Orientation sessions are about 45 minutes to an hour and include an introduction to our animals and a review of our volunteer expectations. We offer orientations regularly throughout the season.
To get started, please visit our website to complete the volunteer application and sign up for an orientation session. If you have any questions along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out-I’m happy to help!
Looking forward to meeting you!
Kind regards,
Adele Gedig
