THE SURREAL SALON SOIREE

One of the most anticipated events of the year in Louisiana’s capital city! A night of art, live music, interactive experiences and so much more, The Surreal Salon Soiree is unlike any other night in the region. In 2026, the event will again have attendees channel their own pop-surrealist visions into unique costumes for this special night. In addition to enjoying the work of dozens of artists, attendees will enjoy live music, interactive experiences, and MUCH more.

Volunteers for this event will help us make the whole experience come to life! We need help with several moving parts. Everything from set up, ticket tables, band assistance, food assistance, and break down. We would love for you to be apart of the team that makes this unique cultural experience possible. Please see duty descriptions below.

EVENT SET-UP: (3:00-7:00pm.)

Setting up tables, assist with icing down wine, beer, water (Should be able to lift 50lbs. comfortably). Set up tables for bar. Set up bar (wine glasses, wine openers, plastic cups, napkins, tip jars.) Set out trash cans.

FOOD SERVICE:(5:00-7:00pm.)

Assist with food prep and plating desserts.

CHECK IN TABLE: (5:00pm-9:00pm)

Assist with checking in guests, scanning tickets, checkin IDs, etc.

BREAKDOWN:(10:00p-12:00am)

Breaking down tables, tents, lights, etc. Cleaning, sweeping. This is a team effort amongst many people.

5 shifts available:

• SET UP; Indoor/outdoor, some lifting up to 50lbs, setting up bar, tents, tables, trash cans, lights, etc.: Saturday January 24, 2026 - 15:00 to 23:45 CST
• CHECK IN TABLE; scanning tickets, selling tickets, checking IDs, wristbanding, etc.: Saturday January 24, 2026 - 17:00 to 21:00 CST
• FOOD SET UP; Setting up tables, plating desserts, etc.: Saturday January 24, 2026 - 17:00 to 07:00 CST
• GALLERY MAINTENANCE; Guarding artworks, cleaning up fallen food/drink, replacing trash bags, etc.: Saturday January 24, 2026 - 19:00 to 23:00 CST
• BREAKDOWN; Breaking down tables, tents, lights, etc. Sweeping, cleaning, taking out trash.: Saturday January 24, 2026 - 21:30 to 23:45 CST
