    Description

Be a Friend! Give some of Your Time to Others - Elkhart, IN and surrounding areas.

Elara Caring, one of the nation's largest providers of home-based care, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to local hospice patients and their families .

Volunteers are needed to visit with patients and engage them in activities such as playing music, singing, working on a craft project, sharing a special moment or simply providing companionship through listening, talking or holding a hand. Volunteers can sometimes provide respite visits, allowing family members to take a much-needed break.

There are also volunteer opportunities within the Elara Caring Hospice office, assisting staff with mailing, filing, data entry and other special projects.

Hours are very flexible, weekdays, evenings or weekends. Typically, we ask that you visit your assigned patient 2-4 hours per month, minimum or offer 2-4 hours per month of work in the office. For more information, contact Heather at 317-407-4210, or hmarsh@elara.com
