    Graphic Designer (Remote/Volunteer)

    Background: Pitch Labs is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that educates, empowers, and inspires young entrepreneurs by providing accessible step-by-step guides, hosting events and workshops, and promoting peer mentorship and development in a community setting. We are 100% volunteer-run and offer all our resources for free online.

    Our team at Pitch Labs is working to make entrepreneurship accessible. We strive to redefine who can be an entrepreneur, highlighting that being an entrepreneur is not about having a specific degree but pursuing one's innate curiosity to learn and develop. We intend to rewrite the narrative of what a successful business and entrepreneur looks like, recognizing that struggles are simply steps to success. We want to help students understand both the value of always being a mentor and mentee and the value of harnessing their creativity regardless of what career they pursue in the future.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Located in the U.S. and speaks professional/native level English
    2. Experience: Must have a portfolio of academic or professional graphic design work that exemplifies creativeness and attention to detail.
    3. Technical Skills: Proficient in graphic design software, ideally platforms like Photoshop and/or Canva.
    4. Creative Ability: Ability to understand and apply different methods of color, design, and typography. Ability to think creatively and develop new concepts of designs for branding guidelines and social media posts.Someone who knows how to convey our mission, who we are & what we do, in a visually provocative way; who can leave a lasting impression on everyone who interacts with our public platforms.
    5. Communication: Must display strong communication skills and work with other marketing department members.
    6. Time Management: Must be able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines, responding to emails/messaging within 24 hours and being highly responsive.
    7. Problem Solver: Have the ability to take the initiative and resolve problems as professionally and effectively as possible.

    What We Need: We have a vision. We have a platform, but we need a more substantial social media presence to help place a spotlight on our resources. Business reaches every industry and profession in the world, which means we can relate to everyone somehow, but we need to create exciting content to do so. We welcome new and veteran Graphic Designers who want to learn through research and exploration. All we seek in individuals is a desire to help others by promoting information sharing. We want our social media posts to relate to world events and also have valuable business lessons.

    • NOTE: Use of AI to write responses in your application will disqualify it from consideration.

    Duties:

    1. MUST attend weekly departmental meetings organized by the CMO to discuss current and future projects and other organizational updates. (Wednesdays @ 6:30pm EST)
    2. Create artistic visuals such as social media posts, logos, original images, and illustrations that incorporate and display Pitch Lab’s core values and tone.
    3. You must be able to create graphic designs to incorporate into our designated social media channels, such as Instagram and any other marketing materials.
    4. Keep current with the latest design trends, software, and technology.
    5. Will oversee all design aspects within their designated projects.
    6. Work with other team members, such as communicating with the social media strategist and marketing copywriter, to design graphics that fit within Pitch Lab’s current content strategy.

    Time Commitment: THIS IS AN UNPAID, REMOTE #WFH VOLUNTEER POSITION. Although this is a volunteer role, given our startup-like functioning, we only seek active volunteers who are energized, ready to engage and make an impact.

    Please be prepared to contribute at least 5 hours a week for at least the next 6 months. As we invest heavily in training each volunteer, we humbly request that if you are unable to meet this time commitment, that you do not proceed with our application further. All volunteers must attend their department’s team meeting or 1-1 meeting every week. We enforce a 24 hour response policy to promote a smooth workflow and mindfulness towards ongoing projects/deadlines that team members are working on.

    We are able to accommodate volunteers who need time off for exams, work, family events, etc as long as these commitments are appropriately conveyed as soon as possible.
