We need animal lovers like you to help us in our mission to safeguard, rescue, heal, adopt and advocate for animals while inspiring community action and compassion. At BARCS, volunteers are more than just a tremendous help to our mission--they are our lifeline and our family. Our volunteers help us care for the animals and operate our programs in a variety of different areas.
Volunteers are the heart of BARCS. They help in countless ways - by walking dogs, socializing cats, providing enriching experience for animals, helping clean, assisting with adoptions, and so much more! We are seeking leaders who enjoy spending time with people as much as they love furry companions - volunteers who want to help lead volunteer orientations or train new volunteers on handling dogs and socializing cats.
Volunteers interested in this opportunity will need to volunteer at least twelve hours in the shelter in the area in which they plan to train others in to ensure they feel fully comfortable answering questions about the shelter. This opportunity is great for student leaders or early career age folks who want to practice their leadership skills, or even for retirees with a wealth of experience who are confident speaking in small groups.
