About Big Brothers Big Sisters Bay Area's Program: Our urgent and essential mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We pair young people referred to our program by parents, guardians, teachers and social workers with a screened, qualified volunteer adult mentor through a comprehensive matching process, which emphasizes compatibility, commitment, and child safety.
Who we serve: We serve and support children and youth 8-18 years old across all nine greater Bay Area Counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano & Sonoma). The vast majority of our participants are low-income, most live in a household headed by a single parent, and 30% are missing parent(s) due to incarceration.
We are seeking volunteer Program Ambassadors to support Partnerships & Recruitment of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area. The role offers flexible hours, based around the volunteer’s schedule. Hours can range from 2-8 hours per week, with potential for more if desired.. This is a non-paid volunteer position.
