    Description

    Special Olympics Florida Central Region Fall Classic - Vero Beach

    Special Olympics Florida is excited to be hosting the Central Region Fall Classic on October 4th at the Indian River IG Center.

    Volunteers can register for the below opportunities:

    • Set-up & Breakdown Assistant: Help get the event ready the day before to competition. Help unload vehicles, organize and distribute items throughout the complex, place out signage, etc. **Volunteers should have the ability to move freely and lift 25lbs**
    • Registration Assistant: Assist with checking in and organizing volunteers prior to competition.
    • Sports Volunteers - Flag Football, Pickleball, Powerlifting, & Softball : Help with multiple aspects of competition including checking in athletes, escorting them to/from the fields of play, scorekeeping, managing equipment, etc. Some volunteers in this role will also assist with preparing and presenting awards to athletes.
    • Powerlifting Spotters & Loaders: Assist with lifting weights on and off the bars for athletes during competition and warm-up. Serve as safety spotters for athletes when lifting. *Must have the ability to repeatedly lift at least 25lbs.*

    All volunteers will receive a volunteer T-shirt and all shifts over four hours will be provided lunch. Validation of community service hours is also available upon request.

    • Assist with Pickleball: Saturday October 04, 2025 - 08:00 to 15:00 EST
    • Assist with Softball Skills: Saturday October 04, 2025 - 08:00 to 13:00 EST
    • Assist with Softball Games: Saturday October 04, 2025 - 08:00 to 16:00 EST
