    Description

Hospice Volunteer ~ Sierra Vista, AZ

Hospice volunteers have one thing in common: compassion, heart and the desire to give back. Your support for patients and families facing end-of-life issues can be tailored to suit you in most cases. Work as little or as much as you wish. There is a "no hands-on" patient care policy for our volunteers, who provide companionship and support to patients and their families.

Volunteers can provide brief respite support in the day for the family caregiver, read to the patient, write letters, put together a scrapbook, help write a memoir, or provide a smile and a listening, compassionate ear. If you are certified to provide pet therapy, music therapy, or art therapy, that is wonderful! Opportunities to give back in both patient and non-patient settings.

Training is in a comprehensive and flexible format which will be customized to your schedule. For information, please contact Angela McCarter, Volunteer Coordinator for Sierra Vista.
