Put your knitting needles and crochet hooks to work and serve a purpose! We donate our volunteers' knitted & crocheted items to homeless shelters in York, Dauphin and Cumberland Counties. We also support 3 family life centers and 2 hospital hospice comfort blanket initiatives. We offer monthly events where you can come to meet us and learn knitting the easy way - on a loom!
We also make crocheted plastic mats using recycled grocery bags as the material - called "plarn." We are always looking for patient crocheters to teach others how to work with the plarn and create mats.
If crafting isn't your interest, we have other opportunities for volunteering behind the scenes on our distribution team (sorting, bagging, tagging, prepping donations), or donation deliveries where you pick up the items from our office and deliver them to the recipient agency. We welcome your to consider how you can help our team! Please contact us to find out how to get more involved. We'd love to speak with you.
