    Recreation Assistants will be added to an email list-serv and will receive monthly notifications of what recreation programs the staff could use support with. Volunteers can choose what programs they assist in based on their scheduling availability.

    Description

    Recreation Assistants will assist in setting up and engaging with residents in recreational activities at ESLC communities. Activities include but are not limited to: arts and crafts, games, and outings in the community. Recreation Assistants will work under the direction of the Recreation Manager and Life Enrichment Coordinators to ensure programs run smoothly. Recreation Assistants are needed at The Episcopal Church Home, Seabury Woods, Brentland Woods, and Ashley Woods Assisted Living Communities.

    Qualifications

    • An interest in working with seniors
    • Basic knowledge of dementia (helpful but not required)
    • Ability to follow verbal and written directions
    • Ability to effectively communicate and work in a team-oriented setting
    • High degree of reliability
    • Positive attitude
