    Description

Moving to a new country is hard! Imagine having to learn a new language and culture... You don't know where to begin. You don't know anyone who can teach you. You feel alone.

Now, imagine finding a place where you can connect with people looking to help. A safe, welcoming place where you can learn the language through one-on-one learning and conversation. You build relationships. You meet people just like you. You build a community in your new home.

The South Baldwin Literacy Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide ESL students with the opportunity to learn English in a welcoming, safe environment that is free of judgement. Our tutors work directly with students to improve their English through individual tutoring and conversation.

No teaching experience required! The only thing our tutors need is dedication to helping those in our community.
