Avon Kite Festival: Soaring Thru The Winds

We’re gearing up for the first-ever Soaring Thru the Winds at Ferkins event at Avon Parks, and we need volunteers to help us make it an amazing experience for everyone! This will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event featuring kite flying, DIY kite building, arts and crafts, a bounce house, and more.

Since this is our inaugural event, we’re unsure how many people to expect—turnout could range from a handful of attendees to several hundred. That’s why we’re looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks and be ready for anything!

Volunteer Roles Include:

• Check-In Support: Greet and register attendees as they arrive.
• DIY Kite Distribution: Hand out DIY kite kits to participants (limited supplies available).
• Kite Building & Decorating Assistance: Help guide attendees in building and decorating their kites at the art station.
• Activity Monitoring: Supervise the bounce house and obstacle course to ensure everyone’s safety.
• Event Navigation Support: Direct participants to the event areas and assist with general questions.

• Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Location: Avon Town Hall Park (Ferkins Concert Area), Avon, IN

We’re looking for volunteers who can assist for the full event or in shorter shifts. Given the uncertainty of the turnout, flexibility will be key—whether there are 5 attendees or 500, we’ll need your help to ensure a smooth and fun event for everyone.
