    Description

    We are seeking members of the community to join us as Board Members. Board Members are essential for the organization, and will act not only as an advocate and ambassador for the organization, but will help us ensure that we are aligned with our mission and goals while making sure we are legally compliant.

    Our mission, is to support the AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) community, to thrive, through the implementation of networking, programs, resources, and tools. Our vision is to be a bridge for students across various stages of life, fields, interests, hobbies, and professional goals to engage, exchange information, and encourage collaboration, with a primary goal of each person walking away from our events having either learned something new or earned a new long-lasting connection.

    This role is an unpaid, volunteer role. Board members DO NOT get any compensation.

    The main responsibilities include:

    • Overseeing H.AAPI's governance, strategy, and financial health
    • Ensuring that our work aligns with our mission and vision/goals
    • Ensure that our organization is legally compliant
    • Participate in board meetings, and emergency board meetings as required by the bylaws
    • Contribute to the organization through your knowledge, skills, and experience
    • Recruit and onboard new board members as needed
    • Act as an ambassador/advocate for the organization
    • Represent H.AAPI at events, and to stakeholders
    • Contribute $100.00 annually or can raise $100.00 through donations
    • Identify, cultivate, and fundraise for our organization through either: individual and major contributions, corporate and/or foundation gifts

    Qualifications:

    • Enthusiastic about the mission of H.AAPI
    • Experience in law, networking, marketing, education, or another pertinent field
    • Willing to contribute time, expertise, and connections to advance our mission and vision/goals
    • Able to commit several hours a month to advance our mission and vision
    • NYC Based Candidates Only

    Time Commitment: 2 - 3 hours per month, in addition to attending board meetings, and major events. Subject to change
