Board Member-Youth Empowerment Nonprofit

Key Responsibilities

• Mission & Advocacy: Believe in and actively promote Philly Youth Inc.’s mission.
• Governance: Attend board meetings (quarterly or bi-monthly) and participate in decision-making.
• Fundraising:
• Make an annual personal contribution (amount flexible based on capacity).
• Assist with fundraising by connecting Philly Youth to potential donors, sponsors, and partners.
• Community Engagement: Represent the organization within your networks, inviting others to events and programs.
• Committees & Projects: Join at least one committee or working group (e.g., fundraising, programs, marketing).
• Support Leadership: Provide guidance to staff and volunteers and open doors to resources and opportunities.

Expectations

• Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per month, including board meetings, events, and committee work.
• Term: 2 years (renewable).
• Contribution: Each member is expected to "give or get" support through donations, sponsorships, or fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

We seek individuals who:

• Are passionate about youth empowerment and education.
• Bring skills in areas such as fundraising, finance, law, education, marketing, wellness, or nonprofit leadership.
• Are well-connected in Philadelphia’s community, business, or educational sectors.
• Are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
