    MobilizeGreen is helping you build the skills to start your environmental career. The Nonprofit Capacity & Career Readiness Program is a six-week, interactive online program designed for motivated students and recent graduates who want to explore nonprofit careers in the environmental or sustainability sectors. Whether you’re pursuing a degree in environmental science, taking climate-focused courses, or just passionate about making a difference, this training gives you the in-demand skills to turn interest into action—and action into a nonprofit career path.

    • Format: Virtual – includes live and self-paced components
    • Duration: 6 weeks
    • Time Commitment: 4 hours per week

    What You Will Learn:

    Each week of the Nonprofit Capacity and Career Readiness Training focuses on a key area of career development—blending sustainability awareness with professional growth.

    • Week 1: Nonprofit Application Toolkit: Explore nonprofit roles in climate and sustainability. Discover where your interests and skills align within green nonprofit careers.
    • Week 2: How To Be a Leader: Managing Up and Other Early Leadership Skills: Develop early-career leadership skills: learn how to manage up, contribute on teams, and grow your voice in mission-driven spaces.
    • Week 3: Community Engagement: Learn how nonprofit organizations engage their community to achieve their mission, shown through sustainability-focused case studies.
    • Week 4: Fundraising and Grant-writing 101: Cover how to find and apply for grants to fund your work while developing your project along the way.
    • Week 5: Communications and Organizational Messaging: Learn how to craft a mission statement, utilize communication skills like social media, and integrate storytelling into organizational messaging.
    • Week 6: Final Project Presentations: Put your new skills to work through your Capstone Project and hear from peers across the country about the projects they tackled.

    By the end of the six weeks, you’ll walk away with real tools, clearer direction, and the confidence to take your next step in the green nonprofit sector.
