    Description

    Volunteer with teens in Austin!
    • Do you want to make a difference in a young person’s life?

    • Do you want to grow your skills working with youth in a fun and enriching environment?

    • Do you have experience and skills to share from a personal or professional background working with youth?

    • Do you like to have fun? Connect with others? Learn about yourself?

If you said yes to any of the above, then we need you!

Foundation Communities is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing quality affordable housing and support services to families and individuals. We operate free summer and after school programs at 12 Learning Centers all over Austin. 6 of our Learning Centers have teen programs for middle and high school students, including our Vintage Creek (78723), Homestead Oaks (78748), and The Jordan (78723) Learning Centers.

We are seeking volunteers to help with project-based learning, doing activities such as coding, robotics, video filming and editing, soccer and basketball skill building, chess, STEAM, and 3D modeling/printing (prior knowledge of these subjects not needed to volunteer), as well supporting our teen students with enrichment activities and social/emotional skills to thrive this spring and beyond!

Summer programming runs 10:00am-3:00pm, Monday through Friday. After-school programs run Monday through Friday between 3:30pm and 6:00pm, with volunteer shifts available during that time. We can offer flexibility for arrival and departure within these times. To start, volunteers commit to at least one regular shift per week for the term.

Volunteers must complete an online application, pass a background check (no cost to the volunteer), and complete an orientation course. Volunteers must be at least 20 years old to volunteer with the teen program.

Our orientation courses are open now for the summer program. Let us know you're interested for information on how to get started!
