    DO YOU LOVE ARTS & CRAFTS?

    Make a difference in the lives of homeless youth with creative activity!

    HOURS: Hours/days are flexible - evenings or weekends are best.

    SKILLS NEEDED: Ability to teach arts activities, enjoy working with youth especially teenagers, patient, sense of humor

    Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) has provided shelter, housing, and life-saving support services to very poor, disabled, homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals and families in the East Bay since 1971. We have operated our Ursula Sherman Village (USV) shelter program since 1975. USV provides shelter, meals and amenities, and support services to both single adults and families with children and youth of all ages - up to 98 people a night.

    The young people at USV are dealing with serious challenges -- we want to provide as many support services and enrichment activities as possible while they are with us, including regular arts & crafts activities, which provide therapeutic release, creative self-expression, social bonding, and fun, helping people relieve stress and build new skills!
