    Description

Red Cross Volunteer Caseworker- Be the bridge to recovery and hope!

It’s another extremely busy disaster season, and it’s critical to have a trained, ready volunteer workforce to make sure we can provide relief at a moment’s notice. This year’s wildfire season is already very active and dangerous because of the severe drought and dry woodlands across the west. And experts are predicting we could see 10 or more hurricanes with winds anywhere from 74 to 111 miles per hour.

Kind, caring and resourceful volunteers are needed to support casework efforts this disaster season. These volunteers work directly with people affected by disasters to help them find hope during the recovery process. This can include providing referrals, advocacy, and financial assistance through the Red Cross case management system, RC Care. Free online training will be provided.

If you can travel outside your local area, a commitment of a least 14 consecutive days to volunteer for 8- or 12-hour shifts is needed (we'll provide travel accommodations). The hours are long, the work is hard, but the experience will change you forever.

Help ensure families don’t have to face tough times alone by being the next step to recovery and hope for those who are unexpectedly faced with emergencies. To apply or learn more, visit: www.redcross.org/volunteertoday.

Safety First! Our need for volunteers is constant and our guidelines reflect the latest CDCand local-government COVID-19 safety recommendations.
