The USS Midway was the longest-serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century. Named after the climactic Battle of Midway of June 1942, the USS Midway was built in only 17 months but missed World War II by one week when commissioned on Sept. 10, 1945. Since then, she served 47 proud years and particpated in numerous impactful missions before being decommissioned in 1992.
The USS Midway Museum is seeking volunteers to support its mission: to preserve the legacy of those who serve, and to inspire, educate and entertain our museum guests. Join us today! Please visit our site to learn more. https://www.midway.org/contact/volunteer-opportunities
"...my greatest reward continues to be my interactions with our guests. What a privilege it is to educate and entertain the public, presenting the Midway and her vast collection of technology and the sailor and airman's life at sea. Magic indeed!" -Midway Volunteer
