    Description

    Volunteer Consulting Opportunity

We are now recruiting for our Fall Training that begins in October 2025!

SOAR Management Consulting Group strengthens the impact of nonprofits in the Greater Boston area by providing pro bono management consulting services to small and midsized organizations. SOAR consultants work in project teams in collaboration with our clients.

Since 2006, SOAR has helped clients meet their strategic and operational objectives, strengthen their governance, and adapt to changing cultural and economic trends. SOAR Consultants are a dynamic community of accomplished professionals from a wide variety of organizational roles in the for profit and nonprofit sectors who volunteer our time to make a difference by sharing our skills and experience.

What Will I Do as a SOAR Consultant?

You will work with a small project team on specific, time-limited projects that respond to the critical needs identified by an organization. In collaboration with a nonprofit client, you will work on:

    • Strategic Plans
    • Marketing and Branding
    • Business and Organizational Plans
    • Financial Analysis
    • Board Development

The nonprofits seeking SOAR services are providing a wide range of programs in their communities that include Education, Health Care, Arts and Culture, Youth Services, Social Services and the Environment.

    Why Become a SOAR Consultant?

As a SOAR consultant you will:

    • Apply your professional expertise to help nonprofits achieve greater social impact
    • Become more knowledgeable about issues affecting the nonprofit world
    • Enrich your own experience by collaborating with other SOAR consultants from diverse backgrounds, as well as through ongoing professional development opportunities
    • Leverage your experience in a multi-session training that orients new consultants to SOAR methodologies and processes.

    Who are we looking for?

    • Professionals with at least 15 years of significant leadership-level experience
    • Those who have a desire to do pro bono work for nonprofit organizations
    • People interested in collaborating with others seeking new challenges and opportunities
    • You must be available for daytime in-person and/or virtual client meetings in Greater Boston.

SOAR believes that we can be most effective for our nonprofit clients when we practice diversity, equity and inclusiveness throughout our organization. We seek to recruit a diverse applicant pool to reflect these values.

Join SOAR and help nonprofits thrive to meet the changing demands of our complex world!
