    Are You a Health Care Professional? Volunteer with the Red Cross! (Skamania County)

    The Red Cross is currently seeking licensed nurses in SW Washington who woiuld be interested in volunteering as Disaster Health Services (DHS) volunteers to deliver hands-on care and education to disaster-affected clients.

    Disaster Health Services volunteers work virtually with disaster-affected clients to provide assistance with replacement of medication, durable medical equipment, glasses, dentures, and other medical supplies.

    Note: Disaster Health Services volunteers can additionally play a crucial role in Red Cross shelters by providing health assessments/guidance, addressing urgent medical needs, supporting individuals with disabilities and functional access needs, and ensuring continuity of care for those impacted by disasters.

    Overall, the support of our Disaster Health Services volunteers is invaluable in helping affected individuals navigate challenging circumstances. While disasters can disrupt ongoing treatment and exacerbate existing healthcare concerns, our Disaster Health Services volunteers are always there to help meet immediate needs and refer clients for ongoing, specialized care.
