Description
The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Fairview Hospital offers families of pediatric patients a place to rest and recharge just steps from their child's treatment room. The Family Room helps families stay strong to support their children by providing a comfortable lounge area with TV, kitchenette stocked with snacks and beverages, sibling's play area, private restrooms and showers, and two overnight rooms for caregivers of the most vulnerable patients.
The primary responsibility of our Family Room Volunteers is to maintain a comforting and supportive atmosphere for our families. Basic duties include:
- Welcoming and registering guests
- Providing information about support services
- Restocking snacks and beverages in the kitchenette
- Keeping the area tidy and inviting
- Helping guests settle into the overnight rooms
