Food For Thought Garden Volunteer

With guidance from our Garden Manager, volunteers help us to maintain and harvest our garden to nourish our clients with fresh, healthy, organic fruits and veggies. Our schedule in the garden changes seasonally every year and July through September is 9:00 am-12:00 pm and October through June is 10:00 am-1:00 pm.

Volunteer tasks may include: prepping beds for planting, working in our greenhouse, pulling weeds, building compost, and harvesting. Because you will be working outside, we recommend that you dress for the weather, bring water, and bring sunscreen and/or a sun hat if necessary. Please wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Requirements: Closed toed shoes are required for volunteering. Anyone under the age of 14 years old is required to be accompanied by an adult during their volunteer shift. We welcome all ages to participate with an adult chaperone. Ability to safely maneuver in the garden and bend/lean over for weeding/harvesting Ability to lift as much as 10 pounds.
