Description
The Website Maintenance & Content Support Specialist ensures the AFTDJ website remains up-to-date, secure, and user-friendly by performing regular maintenance tasks and assisting with occasional content posting that communicates AFTDJ’s mission and activities.
Key Responsibilities
· Website Maintenance (Monthly or As Needed):
o Perform routine WordPress updates (plugins, themes, and core software).
o Take or verify backups prior to applying updates.
o Review site content pages for broken links, images, spelling/grammar errors, or outdated information.
o Confirm correct display on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
o Test all contact and program forms.
o Review user accounts, remove inactive ones, minimize administrator accounts.
o Moderate comments (approve, delete, or flag as spam).
· Content Posting (Occasional):
o Post updates provided by AFTDJ staff or program leads (news items, event announcements, blogs, etc.).
o Format content for readability and accessibility.
o Coordinate with communications staff to ensure consistency with AFTDJ messaging.
