    Description

    Gallery Docents

Gallery Docents continually rotate through both floors of our museum, supervising and interpreting exhibitions and engaging guests and artists in active and meaningful art conversations.

This role serves as an arts ambassador -- directly coordinating with and supporting our Gallery Manager, as well as our Curatorial Associates, and Curatorial Dept.

Growth opportunities include the ability to interact with and demonstrate select artworks, to lead group tours and to assist the Curatorial Dept. and BIMA Staff with other museum-related tasks, projects or events.

Although this opportunity occurs on-site, you do not have to live on island nor have an art background--just possess a love of the arts, love meeting and talking with people from all over the world, and love learning.

Dress with museum representation in mind (smart casual); wear comfortable shoes.

We will teach you how to share with visitors the diversity of artists and forms of creativity endemic to our region. Apply online at: https://www.volgistics.com/appform/109447490

Adults and teens age 18+ applicants, with permission to perform a background check, and accept our volunteer agreement.

    3 shifts available:

    • 10:00 to 00:30 PST
    • 12:30 to 15:00 PST
