    ABOUT PROTECT US KIDS FOUNDATION (PUK)

    Protect Us Kids Foundation safeguards youth globally from exploitation by predators who use cyberspace as a tool for harm. Through education, awareness, and technology-driven solutions, we equip young people with the knowledge and resources to stay safe online. Our collaborative approach, including training, advocacy, and strategic partnerships, focuses on fostering secure digital environments and empowering communities to combat cybercrime.

    THE ROLE

    The Grant Writer plays a critical role in securing funding to advance Protect Us Kids Foundation’s programs and initiatives. This position focuses on researching funding opportunities, developing persuasive grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The Grant Writer will collaborate with program staff, leadership, and external stakeholders to align proposals with the Foundation’s mission and goals.

    PUK’s programs address the unique needs of rural and under-resourced communities and align with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Current initiatives include:

    • Academic Outreach, Training and Development

    • Technology Innovation
    • Youth Life

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Grant Proposal Development:
      • Research and identify funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government entities aligned with PUK’s mission.
      • Write clear, compelling, and well-structured grant proposals tailored to specific funding opportunities.
      • Collaborate with program staff and leadership to gather relevant data, program details, and financial information for grant applications.
      • Ensure proposals align with funder guidelines and deadlines while maintaining PUK’s mission and tone.
      • Edit and proofread proposals to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with organizational priorities.
    1. Grant Compliance and Reporting:
      • Maintain organized records of grant applications, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
      • Assist in preparing detailed grant reports, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and expectations.
      • Monitor the allocation and use of grant funds to ensure adherence to approved budgets and agreements.
    1. Stakeholder Engagement:
      • Liaise with internal teams to understand program needs and ensure accurate representation in grant proposals.
      • Build relationships with funders, including foundations, grant-making organizations, and corporate sponsors.
      • Respond to inquiries from funders and ensure timely communication throughout the grant process.
    1. Research and Learning:
      • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in grant writing and nonprofit fundraising.
      • Conduct ongoing analysis of program outcomes and grant-related data to improve proposal success rates.
      • Research prospective funders to identify alignment with PUK’s mission and strategic objectives.
    1. Collaboration and Support:
      • Partner with program staff, leadership, and the Grant Administrator to streamline the grant application process.
      • Provide recommendations for optimizing workflows and grant management systems.
      • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance grant writing skills and knowledge.
    1. Special Projects:
      • Assist with additional projects and fundraising initiatives as assigned by PUK leadership.______________________________________________________________________________________

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    ·Proven experience in grant writing and proposal development, with a track record of securing funding.

    ·Strong research and analytical skills to synthesize information effectively.

    ·Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into compelling proposals.

    ·High attention to detail and adherence to grant guidelines and deadlines.

    ·Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    ·Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including internal teams and external funders.

    ·Passion for PUK’s mission and commitment to making a difference in the lives of youth.

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    ·Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

    ·At least 3 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development.

    ·Familiarity with grant management software and tools is a plus.

    ·Experience in nonprofit compliance and reporting requirements is preferred.

    ·Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality results.

    ESTIMATED TIME COMMITMENT

    ·Flexible schedule with an estimated time commitment of 8-10 hours per week, depending on grant deadlines and organizational needs.
