    Volunteer Digital Storyteller - Content Creator

    ABOUT PROTECT US KIDS FOUNDATION (PUK)

    Protect Us Kids Foundation safeguards youth globally from exploitation by predators who use cyberspace as a tool for harm. Through education, awareness, and technology-driven solutions, we equip young people with the knowledge and resources to stay safe online. We use a cybersecurity sustainability framework to connect child protection, technology, and community advocacy. Our work centers truth-telling and digital safety with care and integrity.

    THE ROLE

    The Digital Storytelling - Content Creator plays a critical role in transforming Protect Us Kids Foundation's raw footage, community insights, and program moments into powerful multimedia content that informs, uplifts and protects. This position involves producing high-quality short-form videos, visual graphics, and reels for platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and virtual campaigns. The Content Creator will collaborate closely with the Communications and Program teams to develop storytelling that honors the lived experiences of youth, raises awareness of online exploitation, and amplifies the Foundation's global advocacy efforts with dignity and care.

    PUK’s programs focus on rural and under-resourced communities and align with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Current initiatives include:

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Edit raw community footage and youth-led videos into compelling short-form content (reels, interviews, snippets)
    • Design visual storytelling assets (quote graphics, carousel posts, reels) using Canva, CapCut, or similar tools
    • Translate complex online safety topics into age-appropriate, community-centered visuals
    • Co-create visual content for seasonal campaigns, global observances, and youth engagement
    • Repurpose stories, youth submissions, and interviews into respectful public awareness content
    • Help maintain visual consistency accross Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn platforms
    • Track basic engagement metrics and recommend improvements
    • Collaborate with our team to uphold trauma-informed, ethical storytelling standards

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Passion for child protection, digital safety, and advocacy for rural and under-resourced communities
    • Strong storytelling instincts with an eye for culture, clarity, and dignity
    • Proficiency in Canva, CapCut, InShot, or beginner-friendly editing tools
    • Experience or interest in trauma-informed communication and ethical media practices
    • Familiarity with soical media platforms and collaborative digital work
    • Background in Communications, Digital Media, Education, or related fields preferred
    • Bonus: Exploring AI media tools for accessibility and editing (e.g., captions, voiceovers, multilingual tools)
