    Description

Are You Good With Numbers? Use Your Talents to Help Others!

Help seniors manage their money and budget, by becoming a Money Management volunteer!

Our faith-based organization is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals that are age 21 years and older to volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours a month for our Money Management program. You’ll provide basic money management services to low-income seniors. You will receive pre-service orientation and training and attend regular in-service training. All volunteers must pass federal and state background checks.

    Overview of the role:

As a trained volunteer, you’ll use your valuable skills to help individuals who may not have friends or relatives to assist them.

    Responsibilities:

Basic money management services entail helping low-income seniors who have difficulty budgeting, paying routine bills, and keeping track of financial matters such as balancing their checkbook, sorting and managing mail (identifying junk mail), and writing out checks for client signature, etc. Volunteers can also assist with applying clients for benefits or intervening with creditors.

    The need:

Volunteers are needed in Will, Kankakee, Iroquois, and Grundy counties. If you’re interested in sharing your talents as a Money Management Program volunteer, call 815-523-9921 or visit catholiccharitiesjoliet.org.
