    Description

    Hospice Volunteers - New Milford

Become a Hospice Volunteer and Make a Difference

Hold a hand. Play cards. Tell a story. Make memories.

Do you have an hour each week to change a life? Are you ready for a life-enriching experience? Is helping others especially gratifying for you? Do you enjoy supporting behind the scenes with administrative tasks?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, becoming a hospice volunteer might be the perfect fit for you. Hospice programs rely on the dedication of volunteers, and at RVNAhealth, your contribution can make a significant impact. There is no minimum time requirement or obligation to specific tasks; you choose the type of service that suits you, and we will accommodate it as best we can.

    Types of Hospice Volunteer Opportunities:

    Family Support Volunteer

    - Interact with patients and their families by providing companionship or respite for a loved one by running errands or being there when they can’t.

    - Family Support Volunteers do not provide medical or personal care and visit patients wherever they call home.

    Administrative Volunteer

    - Provide support through organizing and ordering supplies, assembling marketing and new patient materials, and other general office duties.

    - Administrative Volunteers typically have no patient contact and assist in both our Ridgefield and New Milford offices.

Both roles require an intensive training program, as mandated by law. A thorough screening process, including a background check, is conducted for all volunteers.
