    NAAAP New York is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, Pan-Asian American professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through professional development, community service, and social events. We are the founding chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), with a history dating back to 1982.

    About the role:

    The VP of Finance is a senior position on the NAAAP New York Executive Team. Primary responsibilities include executing and managing operational financial aspects of Chapter operations. Reporting directly to the Treasurer, he/she is responsible to managing operational bookkeeping, ensuring the fiscal integrity and financial good standing of the organization. The Vice President of Finance will also provide critical financial insight and strategic support to the President, Board of Directors and leadership guidance to the Treasurer and Finance Committee as the organization continues to grow and evolve.

    As Vice President of Finance, you will:

    • Report to the Treasurer and President & EVP
    • Process invoices, receipts and payments into appropriate accounting software
    • Produce balance sheet, profit and loss and project summary reports
    • Follow up outstanding creditors, maintain records and provide reports
    • Assist with preparation of budgets and ensure that any discrepancies are reported immediately
    • Maintain system to account for financial transactions with a chart of accounts and adhering to bookkeeping policies and procedures
    • Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
    • Balance subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries
    • Maintains historical records by filing documents
    • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing account information and trends
    • Monitor the status of operational goals, objectives and plans for direct reports
    • Conduct ongoing assessment and evaluation of financial goals and plans
    • Provides financial expertise support at Programming and to other Directors as necessary
    • Build, develop and manage the Finance Committee
    • Attracting, motivating and coaching talent to achieve the objectives related to the Chapter financial affairs
    • Support Business Development vertical on fundraising efforts from partners and donors
