    Description

UNITE HERE Local 75 is seeking Organizing Apprentices in the Greater Toronto Area to organize in the hospitality industry. We take on multi-national corporations by building worker-led committees. We organize with people to stand up for their rights, stick together and stay motivated in the struggle for justice – inside the workplace and out.

Many Local 75 members work in the tourism industry and in food service. Our Local is taking on the power of these corporations so that working people have what we need to live with dignity in Toronto. Our goal is to not only organize non-union workers and win campaigns, but also to train effective progressive labor leaders and organizers who can develop creative and strategic campaigns to change the economic balance of power in North America.

Our organizing program allows you to get hands-on organizing training with personal attention from experienced organizers who have fought and won big campaigns. You join a team of other people with a hunger to learn organizing skills and take on the rich and powerful through rank-and-file action!

You must have the ability to work in the GTA. Flexibility in scheduling preferred. The start date is flexible (though sooner is better). Organizing experience is neither required nor preferred. Good candidates will be flexible, sociable, reliable, and dedicated.

Innovative organizing campaigns, deep rank-and-file engagement, and our strong focus on leadership development make UNITE HERE! (https://unitehere.org/) an exciting place to create change and build power with workers in the hotel, gaming, and food service industries in the US and Canada.
