    Description

    Dog Team

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of the dogs at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter?

We are always looking for volunteers who are a good match for our Dog Walking Team.

All Dog Team Volunteers go through training to become a Handler. Once approved as a handler, volunteers are engaged with playgroups and walking. Handlers sign up for shifts, where they teach the dogs door manners, loose leash walking and other important skills that will aid in their adoption.

Shifts can be for small dogs or big dogs. Small dog shift times are 7-9am, 12-2pm, and 3-5pm (4-6pm in summer due to the heat). Large dogs shifts are similar with no noon shift. We have shifts every day of the week so if you are still working, weekends might be an option!

Those who are a good fit for the Dog Team, are also provided with additional training opportunities that allow them to move up into many more advanced roles within the Dog Team.

Do you have what it takes for the Big Dog Team?

Apply at www.psanimalshelter.org/volunteer or email volunteer@psanimalshelter.org.

    1 shift available:

    • Dog Walks can choose from three shifts a day, seven days a week. We prefer a commitment of one or two shifts a week.: 12:00 to 14:00 PST
