    Description: The Volunteer Master will be responsible for mentoring the Operations and Technical interns at Thaddeus.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with Operations and Technical interns to help them achieve their goals. This involves removing any obstacles that are blocking the team’s progress ensuring that team members have the resources they need to complete their goals
    • Facilitate the scrum process, which involves organizing and leading the stand-up meetings and sprint planning meetings
    • Facilitate communication between the development team and the product owner. This involves ensuring that everyone has the information they need to address any issues or concerns in a timely manner
    • Responsible for removing any obstacles that are preventing the team from completing their work. This involves working with the team to identify and prioritize the obstacles and then taking action to remove them
    • Work closely with the product owner to ensure that the product backlog is properly maintained and that the team is working on the highest priority items.
    • Help team members understand the importance of collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivering value to the customer
    • Responsible for continuously improving the scrum process. This involves reflecting on the team’s performance, identifying areas for improvement, and then implementing changes to the process to address those areas

    Requirements:

    • Have completed a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science/Engineering or related studies
    • 5+ years’ experience working in IT, business management or a related field
    • Knowledge of Agile and excellent technical knowledge
    • Experience with content management and/or project management systems
    • Experience in teaching and coaching
    • Possess strong personal integrity and ethical principles
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Possess strong organizational, problem-solving and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

    Time Commitment and Working Conditions:

    The responsibilities for this role are performed 100% remotely

    • 5 hrs./week including mandatory meetings
    • 1-year minimum
    • Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
      • Weekly All Staff Meeting: Tuesdays 9-10 AM PST
      • Weekly Tech Department Meetings:  Thursdays 9 AM - 11 AM PST
    • Other meetings (as part of the 5-hour requirement):
      • Monthly meetings with 10 interns: 1.5 hours a week
      • Monthly meeting with product owner: 1 hour a month
      • Monthly meeting with Thaddeus' president: 1 hour a month
