    Description

Help people in Illinois prisons have books to read

At Books to Prisoner volunteer sessions, you will read letters from incarcerated people and select books from our large collection of gently used books to send to the prisoner. Other volunteer tasks include collecting books from the public donation bins, cleaning and sorting new donations, data-entry, and packing books to be shipped.

During the summer months, we hold two public volunteer sessions a week:

    Tuesdays, 7-9 PM

    Saturdays, 2-4 PM

Please email the Volunteer Coordinator to get the sign up link: rachel@books2prisoners.org

During the academic year, we hold four public volunteer sessions a week:

    Tuesdays, 7-9 PM

    Wednesdays, 7-9PM

    Saturdays, 2-4 PM

    Sundays, 2-4 PM

Our location, in the basement, is not chair-accessible at this time
