Become a Tutor with Dyslexia Tutoring Program - Next Training Starts September 3rd, 2025!

Just one hour a week from you can make a lifetime of difference!

Dyslexia Tutoring Program (DTP) provides free one-on-one tutoring and other services to economically disadvantaged children and adults with dyslexia or language-based differences in greater Baltimore. Since 1985, we have helped thousands of individuals learn how to read. All our services are free to participants, and all our tutors are volunteers.

DTP is holding its next Orton Gillingham tutor training course starting September 3rd 2025! This is a hybrid course that meets twice a week for 6 weeks.

Training is FREE in return for a commitment to tutor a student in our program once a week for 60 hours.

This 30 hour, Level I Orton-Gillingham course teaches you the structured, multisensory literacy skills you'll need to tutor a student with a dyslexic learning style and help them learn how to read. DTP provides all materials and supplies and you'll receive ongoing support through mentoring , periodic workshops, and dedicated staff to help you and your student succeed!

WHEN: Wednesdays via Zoom from 6:00pm to 12:30pm; and Saturdays in person from 9:00am to 12:30pm. Classes start September 3rd and end October 11th.

WHERE: In person classes meet at The Rotunda, 711 W. 40th Street, Suite 310, Baltimore, MD 21211. Zoom login information will be provided prior to start of the first class.
