Dog Therapy is AdventHealth Littelton's pet visitation program. It is a socialization program that promotes patient health and welfare by using dog visits to comfort patients and minimize their separation anxiety and related stresses. To be accepted into this program, dogs must be a certified therapy dog through Alliance of Therapy dogs or Denver Pet Partners. Dogs must be at least 3 years of age, in good health, and friendly with young and old alike. The dog must be in a permanent home for at least 6 months prior to the program.
The current minimum age requirement is 21 years old. Maximum age for the dog is 10.
