Description:
The Opportunity Tree is a nonprofit organization supporting older adults with early-stage dementia and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We are excited to offer individuals the chance to gain volunteer hours in a non-traditional community setting focused on psychosocial well-being and meaningful community engagement.
This opportunity allows students to work directly with program participants in a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities such as yoga, seated dance, cornhole, bingo, trivia, Scattergories, and more. Volunteers will support social participation, engagement, and quality of life while gaining insight into the role of an Occupational Therapist in a community-based setting.

Opportunities to observe leadership and supervisory roles of an Occupational Therapist
Enhance communication, activity adaptation, and group facilitation skills
Build meaningful connections and contribute to a mission-driven program
