Greet visitors and create an atmosphere of active hospitality in the Nature Center. Eagerly help answer questions and inspire guests about the plants, animals, and other natural and cultural history of the area. Provide information about trails, programs, and other local interests. There are opportunities to help with animal care, and potentially assist with display and other projects.
Tuesday-Friday afternoon shifts are 11:50am-4:30pm; weekend shifts 9:20am-1pm and 1-4:30pm. We ask Nature Center Hosts to volunteer at least once a month and to commit to at least one year to make the training worthwhile.
We provide initial (and ongoing) on-the-job training to get new volunteers started anytime during the year. You don’t have to know a lot about nature or the area already, just a desire to learn and share! Contact Beth for more information.
Check out our Parent - Child Naturalist Team info for opportunities for a parent (or grandparent) and child ages 10+ to volunteer together in the Nature Center!
