    Description

Furkids Adoption Counselors / Adoption Closers

At Furkids dog shelter we need Adoption Counselors to help the public meet and wisely choose the puppy or dog to adopt. At the dog shelter our adoption counselors go with the public to the dog area, instead of just letting the public wander among the dog population. This is to keep the dogs calmer, and hopefully you'll have a short chat with the customer to better know their lifestyle and wants, and will be better able to find them a perfect match! You'll stay with the customer and their family, and take them and any dog they are interested to a "meet and greet" area.

Once they've made a decision to adopt, trained Adoption Closers go over all the paperwork, handle payment, get copies of medical records, and do any f/up paperwork. Adoption Closers are usually Counselors who have volunteered for a while and know our dogs and our policies better. It's a critical role and we need more of you! If you are a detail person this is a great way to help!
