Position Overview:

As a Patient Unit Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our healthcare team and providing comfort to patients during their stay at our hospital. Your role will include:

• Offering emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
• Assisting with non-medical tasks, such as fetching items, providing water, or helping with personal needs under the guidance of healthcare professionals.
• Engaging in friendly conversations and actively listening to patients, promoting a positive and comforting atmosphere.
• Collaborating with hospital staff to enhance the patient experience and address their needs.

Requirements:

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a strong desire to pursue a career in healthcare and a passion for helping others.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Be compassionate, empathetic, and patient, as you will be working with individuals who may be experiencing various healthcare challenges.
• Have the physical ability to remain on your feet for up to 4 hours during your volunteer shift.
