NAAAP New York is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, Pan-Asian American professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through professional development, community service, and social events. We are the founding chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), with a history dating back to 1982.
About the role:
The Executive Vice President (EVP) is a senior officer position and provides organizational oversight towards management of the leadership team (Leadership Team). Leadership capacity building and executive coaching combined with optimizing HR performance is the primary responsibility. The Executive Vice President has the distinct role of being the second in command and assists with oversight towards the management of Chapter operations and strategic allocation of resources to shape the overall growth of the organization with direction provided by the President. He or she enforces procedures and policies that will allow for the proper governance and dealings of the organization.
As Executive Vice President, NAAAP, New York, you will:
* Assist the President in duties, and perform those duties and functions in the event of absence, resignation, or disability of the President
* Monitor and assess operations of the leadership team
* Be the spokesperson of the organization at public and private functions
* Report directly to the President and Board of Directors
* Coordinates organizational resources with all VP’s
* Provides and exercises organizational oversight with regards to personnel performance management
* Provides senior leadership support to VPs to achieve strategic and operational goals
* Functions on both a strategic and tactical level to ensure organizational consistency and excellence
* Acts as ambassador with constituents, media, corporations, and other non-profits organizations as needed
* Manage succession planning, executive recruitment and training
* Supervise and evaluate officers in the execution of their duties where required
* HRBP functions, conduct peer reviews, performance evaluation and feedback sessions
* Assist with succession planning process and placement of new officers
* Assists with chairing executive board meetings
* Exercises executive authority to optimize committee Programming, activities and initiatives
