    Description

    Sunday Streets SF - Bayview August 24th, 2025, from 12-4PM
    • Hub Support: Setup and breakdown tents, tables, chairs and staging of unused equipment to make Sunday Streets a safe & vibrant community space for all to enjoy. Mid-day shifts may also include additional support for fellow volunteers such as assisting with program activities i.e., yard games, sports, arts & crafts and more! Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time

    SHIFT TIMES: 8:30am - 12:00pm, 11:30am - 3:00pm, 2:00pm - 5:30pm

    • Route Assistant (Crossing Guard) Be a Sunday Streets MVP as a Route Assistant by assuring crowd safety. Tasks include setup, breakdown, and monitoring barricades throughout the day to ensure Sunday Streets maintains a safe, car-free space. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. And stand/walk for long periods of time.

    SHIFT TIMES: 10:30am - 2:00pm, 1:30am - 5:00pm

    • Route Manager (Block Captains) Assist with managing zone set up, control tent assignments, help direct exhibitor placements within a zone. Most importantly maintain pedestrian route safety escorting authorized vehicles to enter/exit their private garages during the event. Must be able to stand for several hours Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

    SHIFT TIMES: 9:00am - 1:30pm, 1:00pm - 5:30pm

    • Route Rabbits (at Open Streets Events Only) Route Rabbits are responsible for street closure setup and breakdown of safety buffers, placement of barricades and traffic control signage as well as roaming the footprint to ensure barricades remain in place throughout the duration of the entire event. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to ride a bike

    SHIFT TIMES: 9:00am - 1:30pm, 1:00pm - 5:30pm

    • Mystery & Outreach Support (All Accessible Shift) All accessible shifts will be assigned based on the volunteer’s physical abilities and the event needs. Tasks vary from supporting fellow volunteers, conducting outreach, collecting crowd data, and assisting with Route Manager & Route Assistants positions for Sunday Streets programs. Must be a Sunday Streets enthusiast!

    Volunteering for Sunday Streets is a simple way to connect with your community, and a variety of roles mean there is something for everyone, regardless of physical ability. Spend a day in the sun as an Event Day volunteer, get the word out as a member of the Street Team, or help make the magic happen through work at the Sunday Streets office. We are super excited to announce the roll-out of some new fun activity programs as well as some new volunteer roles this season.

    PRE-EVENT OPPORTUNITIES

    Neighborhood Outreach is an important part of the planning process and is how we get the word out to the communities for which we serve. Livable City needs your help with door hanging and pole posting for the new season in each neighborhood we will be activating a Sunday Streets program.

    Email volunteer@livablecity.org with the days and times you’re available to do outreach. We’ll reply via email or phone call to schedule a time to meet to hand off the marketing materials as well as confirm the route of your distribution.
