    Description

Volunteering at the Aviation History and Technology Center (AHTC) provides an opportunity to make a difference and support our mission. AHTC could not function without our volunteers’ commitment and enthusiasm that is vital to each visitor’s experience. Each year, volunteers donate thousands of hours to their community at AHTC, making it possible for us to offer a warm welcome and a memorable learning experience to our visitors from North Georgia and all over the world.

We have a variety of needs to fully serve our community, both with the public and behind the scenes, so don't worry if you are not from an aviation background or are not available for large amounts of time. We want to work with you. We will find a role that is rewarding to you and helps both of us grow.

    Responsibilities

    Volunteer opportunities include:

    • Guest Engagement: AHTC ambassadors who greet, assist and engage guests in support of our mission.
    • Special Events: Lead and/or be a part of the team that make our special events a success.
    • Admissions: Collect entrance fees and provide basic information about our site and exhibits.
    • Education: Help develop and present structured curriculum that supports the mission of AHTC.
    • Administration: Help make sure that site documentation is current, filed and distributed as needed.
    • Facility & Site Maintenance: Help keep our site clean, safe and inviting for all our visitors.

    Qualifications

    • Must be 16 years or older
    • Must be willing to follow the rules and regulations in the Volunteer Handbook
    • There are no set requirements for a specific number of hours to volunteer. However, adhering to hours that you sign up for is critical to ensure the site is sufficiently staffed when we are open to the public.
