    About Mentor A Promise

    Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through mentorship, personal development, and real-world education. Our programs equip young people with the tools, confidence, and guidance they need to thrive personally and professionally.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a Volunteer Learning & Development Content Creator to design engaging and accessible resources that support the personal and academic growth of our mentees (K–12). This role will involve creating content that is age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and aligned with MAP’s mission of mentorship and equity. The ideal candidate is a creative educator and storyteller who is passionate about shaping meaningful learning experiences.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Create engaging learning content for mentees, aligned with program goals and youth development best practices
    • Collaborate with instructional designers, mentors, and staff to ensure curriculum alignment
    • Develop materials in multiple formats (videos, slides, worksheets, microlearning modules, social media-ready content)
    • Ensure all resources are inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible

    Qualifications

    • Background in content creation, education, youth programming, or instructional design
    • Experience creating educational content for youth or young adults (preferred)
    • Strong writing, storytelling, and visual communication skills
    • Proficiency with tools such as Google Workspace
    • Creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented
    • Passion for youth development, mentorship, and educational equity

    Commitment

    • Volunteer role, approximately 5–10 hours per week
    • Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
    • Weekly team meetings required (based on team availability)
    • Fully remote with flexible scheduling
