    Description

    The Volunteer Director of Dreams plays a central leadership role in delivering life-changing Dream experiences for children with critical and chronic illnesses. This individual will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all Dream activities, ensuring that each Dream is thoughtful, meaningful, and aligned with the child’s unique wishes. The Director will lead the Dream Coordinating Team, manage resources and budgets, and serve as the primary point of contact for Dream families.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor the Dream Coordinating Team to ensure exceptional delivery of each Dream, while upholding the values and mission of the Dream Factory.
    • Dream Intake & Planning:
    • Oversee the intake and pre-screening interview process for eligible Dream applicants and their families. Lead the end-to-end coordination of each Dream, from approval to completion.
    • Customized Itinerary Creation:
    • Design personalized Dream itineraries tailored to the interests and medical needs of each child.
    • Budgeting & Financial Oversight:
    • Develop and manage detailed budgets for each Dream. Ensure financial reconciliation and timely closure of Dream files.
    • Reporting & Data Management:
    • Maintain accurate records in the Dreamchild database and submit required accounting and activity reports to the Chapter President for review and approval.
    • Confidentiality & Compassion:
    • Uphold strict confidentiality protocols and provide compassionate, family-centered care throughout all interactions.
    • Board & Event Participation:
    • Attend monthly board meetings and participate in chapter events and fundraisers as needed.
    • Policy Compliance:
    • Ensure all activities are in compliance with Dream Factory national guidelines and chapter-specific policies and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • Licensure or certification in mental health counseling or related field (preferred)
    • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience working with children or in a child-focused organization
    • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a leadership capacity
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Sensitivity to the needs and experiences of families navigating critical or chronic illness

    Requirements:

    • Successful completion of a background check
    • Signed confidentiality agreement
    • Signed financial solvency and accountability agreement
    • Commitment to make a monthly donation or secure a recurring monthly donor on behalf of the organization
