    Front Desk Receptionist (Sacramento In-Person Volunteer Position)
    Location: Sacramento Red Cross Office
    Position Summary:

    The Front Desk Receptionist at the Sacramento Red Cross office is the first point of contact for visitors, partners, and staff. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming environment, managing incoming communications, and supporting daily administrative operations to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Greet and assist visitors in a courteous and professional manner
    • Answer incoming phone calls, respond to general inquiries, or route calls to the appropriate contact
    • Keep the reception area clean, organized, and presentable at all times
    • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and deliveries
    • Support administrative functions such as data entry, filing, and photocopying
    • Provide general information to clients, visitors, and partners
    • Follow established security procedures and maintain accurate visitor logs
    Qualifications:
    • Reliable transportation to and from the Sacramento Red Cross office
    • Ability to commit to a consistent weekly shift and arrive on time
    • Basic verbal and written communication skills
    • Willingness to learn and take on a variety of administrative tasks
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is a plus, but not required
    • Professional appearance and a positive, team-oriented attitude
    Work Environment:
    • Office setting with regular interaction with clients, visitors, and staff
    • May involve extended periods of sitting and occasional lifting of office supplies

    Time Commitment:
    • Schedule: Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of one consistent shift per week. Shifts typically range from 4 to 7 hours with a lunch break.

      Example: Volunteering every Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    • Duration: We ask that volunteers commit to this role for a minimum of 6 months to ensure continuity and support for our team and visitors.
