    Description

    JOB SUMMARY

    This is a volutneer remote role.

    The Videographer reports to the Assistant Manager of Videography.

    We are looking for a talented videographer to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the organization’s vision, tells a cohesive story, and is suitable for posting.

    No travel is required or expected for this position.

    It is expected that the applicant will already have access to the equipment and programs required to complete the job. Software/hardware will not be provided by Random Acts. [1]

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
    • Review raw material to create a story based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
    • Cut and put together a sequence of the film
    • Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects
    • Create suitable videos based on the terms of the brief provided by the Multimedia Team by the appropriate deadlines, while also ensuring alignment with overarching Random Acts Brand Guidelines.
    • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and the industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
    • Ensure that Random Acts staff are informed of any concerns or problems that arise during your duties
    • Participate in weekly team meetings as often as possible, check mail on a regular basis, and use our internal systems to provide status updates and share files

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • Proven work experience as a video editor
    • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages
    • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
    • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity
    • Some familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing
    • Creative mind and storytelling skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Degree in film studies, cinematography or related field preferred
    • Have access to video editing software capable of creating high-quality video and captioning.
    • Have the ability to store large files temporarily and to share them to the cloud storage as supplied by Random Acts.

    This role requires remote working. Applicants must have regular and reliable access to the Internet, as well as the motivation to dedicate their time to the organization.

    The role is anticipated to take between 3-4 hours per week.
